Gary Gal

Chief Risk Officer

Gary Gal is Chief Risk Officer at Belstar, responsible for risk management across the firm and its investments. Before joining Belstar in 2020, Mr. Gal spent five years investing in distressed mortgage and consumer assets. From 2005-2014 he was at Ambac Assurance where he was a senior underwriter in the Consumer ABS group and subsequently Head of Quantitative Strategy. Prior, Mr. Gal held positions at Ace Capital Re, Rabobank, and Arthur Andersen. Mr. Gal graduated from Pace University, cum laude, with a combined BBA/MBA degree in Public Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
